Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Job Summary:

The Boyd Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our Specialized Accounting group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in furthering our analytics agenda, with a strong focus on detailed variance analysis, reporting, and influencing organizational behavior to drive change with the implementation of our new ERP system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute financial models and tools to support Operations and Corporate groups' monthly and quarterly reporting processes.
  • Co-lead a company-wide project to transform our capital asset processes from beginning to end.
  • Work with existing resources post-project implementation to identify reporting requirements, develop reports, and complete training with different working groups.
  • Recognize and implement continuous improvements.
  • Assist management with oversight of accountants' work and reconciliations to drive quality in the department.
  • Mentor junior staff members, including review of work and coaching through technical and soft skills.
  • Assist management with accounting research.
  • Provide general close support and accruals.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, along with extensive related experience.
  • A CPA designation is required.
  • Five plus years of related financial experience.

  • Highly analytical with sound business judgment, proven documentation skills, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, time management, computer, and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for learning and acquiring new skills.
  • Excellent strategic, lateral thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills with the capacity to effectively plan, develop, implement, and evaluate administrative and operating systems.
  • Problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity for root cause analysis to identify solutions.
  • Project management experience.
  • Confidence and assertiveness to enforce financial guidelines while maintaining rapport.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information that may not be shared inside and outside the organization.
  • Passion to provide excellent customer service.

  • Prolonged use of computer.
