Overview:

  • Objective: Oversee maintenance and repair activities under the direction of the Facilities Manager, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards set forth by the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority.
  • Requirements:
    • Completion of secondary education
    • At least one year of relevant experience; preference for candidates with a background in electrical or mechanical fields
    • Strong proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written
    • Able to perform physical tasks both indoors and outdoors, including lifting heavy items
    • Availability to work weekends on a rotational basis and readiness for emergency call-ins
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Engage in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) initiative
    • Ensure the upkeep of the building and equipment, maintaining safety and operational efficiency
    • Supervise fire safety systems and emergency equipment
    • Conduct routine maintenance assessments of the residence, grounds, and equipment
    • Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments
    • Maintain organization in work areas and storage facilities
    • Perform regular inspections of fire safety apparatus
    • Comply with corporate policies and safety protocols
    • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
    • Assume responsibilities in the absence of the Facilities Manager
    • Other duties as assigned
