Job Title: Manager, Laboratory Services

St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Laboratory Services to lead our Laboratory team. As a key member of our Patient Care Services and ITS team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Laboratory, including Quality Management and Control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational management of the Laboratory, including budgeting and capital equipment planning
  • Coordinating staffing resources, including staffing and scheduling
  • Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a unionized environment
  • Ensuring safety and reviewing and updating policies and procedures in accordance with Accreditation standards
  • Creating a high-performing team and positive work environment
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technologist Program
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in Healthcare
  • Minimum of six (6) years clinical laboratory experience
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of IQMH requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the IQMH and Accreditation Canada process in a supervisory/leadership role
  • Experience in Infection Prevention and Control standards
  • Leadership experience in a Unionized environment
  • Ability to form meaningful and create established relations with our regional partners
