Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Mathematics and Science Teacher to join our team at York Region District School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics and Science in our secondary division, with specific grade level assignments to be determined.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term curriculum plans for Mathematics and Science courses.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons, utilizing a range of teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Evaluate and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Manage classroom organization and behavior, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • Stay up-to-date with current teaching methodologies and technologies, applying them in a way that enhances student learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent.
  • Eligible for or in possession of an Alberta Permanent or Interim Teaching Certificate.
  • Fluent in French is required for this position.
  • Valid first-aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is desirable.
