Medical Laboratory Assistant II

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Laboratory department, you will be responsible for performing specimen collection, preparation, and testing, as well as providing clerical and laboratory support functions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform inpatient and outpatient Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing and Holter monitor testing as required
- Explain test procedures to patients and provide excellent customer service
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance
- Work collaboratively with the Chief Technologist and other laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations
- Grade 12 and successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program
- One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
