About the Role

The Mental Health Clinician will work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team that practices from an Indigenous worldview, recognizing and respecting the values, beliefs, and customs of individuals, families, and communities. This role provides team-based, trauma-informed care by creating a culturally safe environment to promote, maintain, and/or restore client health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health services, including consultation, intake, assessment, collaborative care planning, education, navigation, and connection to other resources, through a decolonizing lensed approach.
  • Work with clients to design treatment plans tailored to their specific needs, taking into account their intersectionality and healing journey.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling, or related health professional qualifications with a specialization in mental health.
  • Advanced training in threat/risk assessment and/or trauma response, as well as training in brief intervention approaches.
  • Current practicing registration with the applicable professional governing body in B.C. and designation as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Certified Clinical Counsellor (CCC), or Registered Social Worker (RSW).
  • Three years' recent direct experience in a clinical mental health and addictions setting working with children and youth and/or adults.
  • Experience working with First Nations people and communities, providing mental health services that integrate holistic Indigenous approaches.
