About the Role

The SAIT Athletics and Recreation department is seeking part-time hourly staff to support our services as Wellness Centre Assistants. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to student engagement and the competitive aspirations that make up a larger SAIT experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service (Front of House)
    • Provide exceptional customer service to all individuals entering the Wellness Centre
    • Manage the Wellness Desk, including reception duties, telephone interactions, and online communications
    • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all users
  • Facility Stewardship (Campus Centre)
    • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of exercise equipment and facilities
    • Restock and sanitize fitness studios and lifting centers
    • Manage access controls, student card validation, and membership processing
  • Compliance (Programming, Sport Amenities, Finance)
    • Process financial transactions, sales, and petty cash handling
    • Manage equipment rentals, sign-outs, inventory, and storage
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental expectations
  • Technical Skills and Safety
    • Operate fitness equipment, audio/video systems, and related equipment
    • Provide fitness equipment orientations and troubleshooting assistance
    • Respond to first aid situations and maintain a safe environment
  • Collaboration
    • Support facility bookings and customer interface through Conference Services
    • Collaborate with Facilities Management and other departments as needed

Requirements

  • Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Previous customer service experience
  • First aid and CPR certification an asset
  • Respect in Sport certification an asset
  • Knowledge of the Campus Centre layout and rules
  • Ability to deal tactfully with the public and student body
  • Ability to notice and report any potential safety hazards
