The Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and high-achieving individuals to join our team as Accounting Associates. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about finance and aspire to build a career in accounting advisory and assurance services.

The Accounting Associate will report to senior staff and/or management, playing a vital role in supporting and managing various aspects of client engagements. Responsibilities will include assisting with daily accounting tasks, preparing reporting packages, and contributing to tax returns and other deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in preparing engagement proposals.
  2. Maintain records of received documents and track information requests.
  3. Provide accounting services to clients, including transaction recording, account reconciliations, month-end procedures, and preparation of year-end records and internal financial reports.
  4. Support assurance and non-assurance engagements in line with professional standards and firm policies.
  5. Conduct qualitative analyses of internal financial controls and document processes.
  6. Perform financial analyses and develop models, including assessments of historical and projected financial outcomes, cash flow forecasts, and budgets.
  7. Prepare personal, corporate, and trust tax returns for assurance and non-assurance clients.
  8. Communicate regularly with the team regarding engagement status and deliverable progress, and participate in client meetings.
  9. Prepare completion documents to efficiently close out files.

Candidate Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

  1. A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or currently pursuing such a degree.
  2. A keen interest in obtaining CPA, MBA, CBV, CFF, and/or CFE designations is advantageous.
  3. Relevant work experience that fosters attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment, along with strong research and analytical skills.
  4. A proven record of personal development.

  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Caseware, TaxPrep, Sage, and Quickbooks is a plus.
