Position Summary:
The Ground Support Equipment Technical Instructor is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of both formal and informal training programs tailored for GSE personnel. This role also involves coordinating and overseeing external training providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the technical publications library and documentation for the department.
- Conduct research and provide recommendations on fleet technical matters.
- Deliver on-the-job training and mentorship to mechanics.
- Adapt work hours and shifts as necessary to fulfill training requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in courseware development, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Design and facilitate training orientations, courses, and workshops to ensure staff receive necessary training for legislative compliance and skill enhancement.
- Plan and execute technical training programs related to work standards, processes, and production control systems for Technicians, Mechanics, Helpers, and Supervisors.
- Research, develop, and implement fleet training and compliance policies to enhance service quality.
- Assist in creating internal systems to monitor staff training records and ensure compliance.
- Maintain updated content for the technical resource library, including services, parts, and repair manuals for all vehicles.
- Evaluate and recommend actions based on manufacturer technical services.
- Ensure diagnostic laptops and software are current and functional.

Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary education with additional vocational or technical training, preferably in adult education.
- Mandatory completion of a training and apprenticeship program in Automotive Service Technicians (310S) or Truck & Coach Technicians (310T).
- Experience in creating, administering, and delivering training programs, including classroom instruction and training needs assessments.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively deliver training programs.
- Willingness to work and travel across various shifts and locations.
