Your role and contributions:
- Conduct preliminary studies and estimates for electrical and automation projects across diverse manufacturing settings
- Create detailed electrical plans
- Perform on-site measurements and validations to devise optimal solutions for internal stakeholders
- Generate design calculations
- Design, verify, and approve electrical schematics
- Produce as-built documentation following project completion
- Provide support to project management teams
- Create 3D models and 2D schematics for various equipment and systems
- Select appropriate commercial components
- Establish the Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Oversee technical project monitoring in collaboration with other designers, project managers, and electricians
- Act as a technical resource for the maintenance team
- Engage in post-project evaluations with project managers and stakeholders
- Offer constructive feedback on projects to key stakeholders
- Contribute to the enhancement of existing processes
Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:
- A university degree in Electrical Engineering
- Membership in OIQ
- Five to ten years of experience in electrical design
- Proficiency in 600Vac and 120Vac distribution, lightning protection, network control access, and fire alarm systems
- Expertise in automation and instrumentation
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards
- Excellent organizational and teamwork abilities
- Proficient in 3D software and AutoCAD; knowledge of Inventor software is a plus
- Able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Bilingual with strong oral and written communication skills
- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Creative and inquisitive mindset
- Detail-oriented with a logical approach, resourcefulness, and discipline
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand the broader context
