Key Responsibilities- Welding and Fabrication: Interpret welding process specifications, operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
- Quality Control: Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
- Maintenance and Repair: Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
- Operational Support: Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products, and operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal.
- Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding conditions.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in welding and metal fabrication.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
- Support for Persons with Disabilities: Provides physical accessibility accommodations, visual accessibility accommodations, and auditory accessibility accommodations.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, assists with immediate settlement needs, and supports social and labour market integration.
