Corporate Lawyer/Associate Job Description

As a Corporate Lawyer/Associate, you will provide strategic legal guidance to support business objectives, advising clients on a broad range of corporate legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, contract law, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal advice on corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards and legal regulations.
  • Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and legal proceedings.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external counsel on complex legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in good standing with the provincial Bar.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate law, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, including M&A, governance, and compliance.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
