Job Title: Experienced Medical Radiation Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Radiation Technologist to join our team at the University Health Network. As an integral member of our Joint Department of Medical Imaging, you will perform various Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures using state-of-the-art technology. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and superb image quality, backed by a commitment to continuing education and quality assurance program initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Magnetic Resonance imaging procedures as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals.
  • Ensure MRI Safety Standards of practice are followed at all times.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and ensure safe functioning of medical imaging and ancillary equipment.
  • Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results.
  • Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care.
  • Attend meetings as necessary and be responsible for teaching, training, educational, research, safety, and quality improvement programs/activities.
  • Observe and understand Hospital and departmental policies and procedures and contribute to imaging policies and procedures that will result in improvements in technical quality.
  • Adhere to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Perform cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned, including call, evening, weekend, or night shifts. There is a potential for overtime shift opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Completion of clinical component of relevant accredited medical imaging academic program, or equivalent education as assessed by CAMRT and CMRITO.
  • Required minimum 4 years experience in MRI.
  • Certification by the CAMRT in MRI.
  • Current registration with the CMRITO in MRI and fulfilling the annual required continuing education as per CMRITO.
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification.
  • Cross-sectional Anatomy course, required.
  • Contrast injection course, preferred.
