Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, providing care to youth up to 19 years old who are facing challenges related to substance use and/or gambling, as well as concurrent mental health issues. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting initial and ongoing nursing assessments.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of interdisciplinary treatment plans.
  • Delivering family-centered nursing care aligned with the organization's mission and values.
  • Providing leadership in patient care planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Building collaborative relationships with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
Work Schedule

Shifts may vary between 7.5 and 11.25 hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays across various times of the day.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN).
  • Recent completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience in adolescent substance use treatment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental health and concurrent disorders is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
