Job Title: Director, Business Reporting and Analytics

Job Summary:

The Director, Business Reporting and Analytics will lead the development and implementation of business intelligence and analytics solutions to support the Capital Markets team. This role will be responsible for providing strategic and operational business leadership to a portfolio of business applications, facilitating communication between the business and Engineering, and championing the optimal mix of business process and technology solutions to best address business needs or opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, design, and implement technology solutions for a suite of business applications in a complex environment considering current and future needs.
  • Establish and implement best practices as it relates to project documentation for analysis and testing.
  • Facilitate and lead business process improvement via the methodical investigation, analysis, review, and documentation of business specifications.
  • Manage the requirements development process through the elicitation, analysis, specification, and verification of multiple levels of requirements from an end-to-end perspective.
  • Ensure project management and business analysis skills are executed and applied in the execution of work assignments.
  • Exhibit innovative ideas to influence positive project outcomes and systems improvements.
  • Coordinate and manage the implementation and/or integration of products or new features for the business unit and its clients, including training.
  • Manage Business projects as assigned and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring on BA skills and techniques to less experienced Business Analysts.
  • Contribute to the direction of the technical evolution in order to support the achievement of business strategic plans.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of Information Technology concepts.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Experience in Finance or Enterprise Analytics environment would be an asset.
  • Adheres to best practices as outlined by the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA).
  • Adheres to best practices as outlined by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Minimum of 5 years Management experience.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.
  • Able to interpret information from multiple sources and draw logical conclusions; consults others based on analysis of data; able to think strategically and use data findings to consult others for improved business results.
  • Identifies problems, and uses logical analysis to find information, understand causes, evaluate and select best possible courses of action.
  • The ability to persuade others to take appropriate action and to negotiate to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement.
  • Strong Excel and SQL skills is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning technologies is an asset.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills including strong facilitation skills.
  • Strong influencing skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated and proven leadership skills, excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.

  • Process improvements and artifacts.
  • Knowledge of SDLC.
  • Working knowledge of automated testing tools.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and within a team environment as well as an ability to maintain productive and collaborative relationships with colleagues and senior management within the Company to obtain, provide, verify and discuss information.
  • College diploma or University degree or equivalent experience.
