Emil Anderson Equipment is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join its team in West Kelowna, BC. As a key member of our shop, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, and dump trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical equipment to identify damage, defects, or wear;
  • Perform service repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance;
  • Replace and/or repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts;
  • Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction;
  • Maintain accurate records and reports;
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to work safely and effectively with and around machinery;
  • Proficiency in operating hand and power tools;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing situations;
  • Valid motor vehicles inspector license;
  • Valid BC driver's license with air endorsement and a clean abstract;
  • Comfortable assisting apprentices in learning and developing their skills;
  • Previous experience working as a Service Technician or in a related field is considered an asset;
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal) or equivalent experience is considered an asset;
  • CVIP License is considered an asset.

Compensation:

$38-$45/hr

The wage range for this position will be discussed during the interview stage.
