Job Summary:

Emil Anderson Equipment is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join its team in West Kelowna, BC. As a key member of our shop team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, and dump trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect mechanical equipment to identify damage, defects, or wear;
  • Perform service repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance;
  • Replace and/or repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts;
  • Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction;
  • Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate reports;
  • Perform other tasks as required to support the efficient operation of our shop.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable working with and around heavy machinery;
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Effective communication skills to interact with fellow employees and supervisors;
  • Ability to work in a team-focused environment with a positive attitude;
  • Natural problem-solving skills to resolve equipment issues;
  • Valid motor vehicles inspector license;
  • Valid BC driver's license with air endorsement and a clean abstract;
  • Comfortable assisting apprentices in learning and developing their skills in the trade;
  • Previous experience working as a Service Technician or other related experience with heavy equipment is considered an asset;
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal) or equivalent experience is considered an asset;
  • CVIP License is considered an asset.
