About the role

The Equipment Operator/Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the operation, within the facility boundaries, and inspection of a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand tools, forklifts, yard dog, high vacuum trucks, wheel loaders, excavators, boom lifts, and scissor lifts in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements and all local, state, and federal laws.
  • An equipment operators license shall also be maintained where required by local and state regulations.
  • First-Aid/CPR/AED Certification, and Confined Space Entry Certification or the ability to obtain the necessary certifications is required.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the site's equipment in the assigned areas.
  • Responsible to perform minor maintenance and adjustments on equipment using tools and parts provide by Reworld.
  • Responsible for conducting daily motorized machinery inspections on the site's equipment.
  • Comply with all health, safety and environmental, policies, procedures, practices and regulations.
  • Communicates production problems and equipment repair needs to appropriate Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Supervisor.


Skills & Competencies

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals. Ability to speak and communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees of the organization.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to conduct basic maintenance and adjustments using tools provided by Reworld. Previous experience performing minor equipment maintenance.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, taking the appropriate action.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices to protect personnel and equipment. Ability to take appropriate safe action on his/her own initiative to prevent equipment damage or injury to personnel during emergencies or unusual situations.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in inspecting and recording operational levels and maintenance tasks.
  • Communication: Clear and concise verbal communication for reporting and coordinating with team members.
