Job Description

As a Millwright - Mechanical Specialist at Trans-United Consultants Ltd, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial production environment. With your expertise in mechanical maintenance and repair, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues, optimizing system performance, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair plant equipment, including pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators, as per layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as forklifts, jacks, and handling equipment to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, or repair.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on all equipment as required, documenting and maintaining details of inspections.
  • Assist on-site contractors as needed and participate in ongoing cross-training, multi-skilling activities within the organization.
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans, ensuring operator safety devices function properly.
Requirements:
  • Industrial Millwright (433A) certification - Inter Provincial / Red Seal OR Ontario.
  • Certificate of Millwright Apprenticeship an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in automated industrial production environments performing mechanical maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance in a food processing environment.
  • Competent in SMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding processes.
  • Good knowledge of oral and written English and Mathematics.
  • Working knowledge of OHSA standards and regulations.
  • Any PLC troubleshooting or program editing experience is an asset.
