The faculty of Health, Community and Education is comprised of four departments: Health and Physical Education, Education, Child Studies and Social Work, and Nursing and Midwifery which offer a variety of degree, diploma, and certificate programs.

About the Role

The Department of Education invites applications for sessional contract instructors starting in the Winter 2026 semester. The Department of Education currently offers a four‑year Bachelor of Elementary Education degree.

We are seeking instructors with the ability to teach the following course(s):

Professional Dimensions II
Mondays
8:30‑11:20 a.m.

This course provides a foundation for curriculum and pedagogy in the areas of planning, facilitating and assessing learning. Further, it examines issues of power and justice and the ways that the economy, matters of race, culture, class, and gender ideologies, political discourses and other social institutions interact to construct the social systems that make up educational institutions. The field experience will focus on small groups and teacher candidates are expected to teach a lesson. In‑school seminars may comprise part of the lecture hours.

Responsibilities

The Department of Education invites applications for a contract lecturer position in Professional Dimensions II . The contract will commence January 6, 2026.

Qualifications

Qualifications include a Masters degree in Education, with a Ph.D. preferred, experience teaching in the K–12 system, with K‑6 preferred, expertise in mentoring teacher candidates and evaluating teaching practice, and relevant undergraduate teaching and/or professional experience.

The successful candidate will be required to provide the University with academic transcripts from degree granting institutions; satisfactory Police Information Check (dated no earlier than three months prior to their appointment). Employment contracts will be rescinded if requirements are not complete.
