The Faculty of Health, Community and Education comprises four departments: Health and Physical Education, Education, Child Studies and Social Work, and Nursing and Midwifery which offer a variety of degree, diploma, and certificate programs. The School of Nursing and Midwifery offers the following programs: Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery, the Bridge to Canadian Nursing, and the Advanced Studies in Critical Care Nursing Certificate.
About the Role
The Faculty of Health, Community and Education at Mount Royal University invites applications for contract clinical instructors for the Advanced Critical Care Nursing Program (ACCN). There is potential for continued employment.
The successful applicant will be qualified to teach Advanced Critical Care Nursing (ACCN) 5591 – Emergency Nursing Clinical.
Course: ACCN 5591 – Emergency Nursing Clinical
Location: RGH ER
Dates: January 6 - April 25, 2026
Course Description: This clinical practicum provides the student with opportunities to integrate and apply emergency nursing theory and skills in the clinical setting. Students gain hands‑on experience with a variety of assessment and clinical interventions. Nurses with emergency experience may apply for prior learning credit
Qualifications
- The successful candidate will be required to provide the University with academic transcripts from degree granting institutions; current license with CRNA (as a member in good standing); satisfactory Police Information Check (dated no earlier than three months prior to their appointment); current CPR Health Care Provider certificate; and additional requirements as required by the clinical practice settings. Employment contracts will be rescinded if requirements are not complete.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of recent emergency or critical care experience, current ER/Critical Care practice required.
- Currently working at RGH ER required.
- Current Practice Permit in province of clinical supervision.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- CNA certification in critical care or ER preferred.
- ACCN graduate preferred.
