About the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies

The Faculty of Business, Communication Studies & Aviation comprises the Bissett School of Business, the School of Communication Studies and the Aviation Program. The Bissett School of Business offers a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with majors in accounting, human resources, general management (with concentrations in innovation and entrepreneurship, social innovation). The Aviation Program offers a two-year Aviation Diploma and the newly launched four-year Bachelor of Aviation Management.

Responsibilities

- Instruction: Course delivery, including preparation of course outlines, course materials, activities, lesson preparation, student feedback, assessment, management and oversight of Brightspace Learning Management System (D2L).
- Administration: Administer final and midterm exams, input final grades upon course completion, complete signature forms as required, and participate in scheduled course-related meetings.

Qualifications

We seek applicants with a minimum master’s degree or equivalent in the specific discipline. Previous experience in teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred, but experience in a teaching role (such as training and workshop facilitation) may also be considered.

- A master’s is required; a completed PhD or DBA is an asset.
- Record of successful teaching performance or clear potential to become a successful instructor.
- Demonstrated excellence in university or college teaching.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Willingness to learn MRU systems and technological tools, and openness to online delivery if needed.
- Willingness to attend on-campus academic development seminars to develop teaching skills.

Fall 2025 (September 4, 2025 – December 22, 2025):

- This course meets the meteorology requirements for the Department of Transport Commercial Pilot’s License.

Winter 2026 (January 6, 2026 - April 25, 2026):

- AIRF 2209 001 12776 Advanced Aviation Meteorology: Tuesday & Thursday 1130am-1250pm.
- AIRF 2209 002 12777 Advanced Aviation Meteorology: Tuesday & Thursday 1300pm-1420pm.
- AIRF 2209 003 12778 Advanced Aviation Meteorology: Tuesday & Thursday 1430pm - 1550pm.
- AIRF 2111 003 12772 Aeronautics, Industry & Flight Operations: Tuesday & Thursday 0830am - 0950am.
- AIRF 2210 001 12780 Aviation Technology & Aircraft Systems: Monday & Wednesday 1300pm-1420pm.
- AIRF 2210 003 12782 Aviation Technology & Aircraft Systems: Monday & Wednesday 1600pm-1720pm.
