Health Promotion Officer Permanent Full-Time – Noëlville, Alban, St-Charles and Warren, Ontario
The Health Promotion Officer will play a key role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion initiatives aimed at improving the overall health and well-being of the community. This position involves close collaboration with community members, stakeholders, and other health professionals to identify priority needs and implement effective strategies for health promotion, awareness, and community development.
Responsibilities
- Program Development: Design, implement, and evaluate health promotion programs tailored to the identified needs of the community.
- Community Engagement and Development: Establish and maintain strong relationships with community members, local organizations, and stakeholders to support and promote health initiatives.
- Education and awareness: Facilitate workshops, seminars, and presentations on various health topics (e.g., nutrition, physical activity, mental health, chronic disease prevention).
- Strategies and Policies: Develop and implement strategic approaches aimed at improving health and supporting the implementation of local, regional, and national policies that promote well-being.
- Partnerships: Develop and strengthen partnerships with key individuals, communities, and organizations that can positively influence public health.
- Educational resources: Create and distribute educational materials (brochures, flyers, digital content) to raise awareness about health issues and available services.
- Data collection and analysis: Gather and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Advocacy: Promote policies and practices that support health equity and improve access to services.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with the Health Centre team to integrate health promotion into all aspects of care, assess health inequities, and collaborate on concrete solutions to reduce them.
- Communication: Promote the Centre’s activities on social media and the website to increase visibility and community engagement.
- Community Leadership: Facilitate and lead various committees, projects, and initiatives related to health promotion.
- Project planning: Develop clear work plans (goals, objectives, expected outcomes) and ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets.
- Other duties: Perform any other tasks assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree obtained from a recognized university, in Health Promotion or a combination of undergraduate studies in a related field and in-depth experience.
- Excellent communication skills, group facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Ensure the quality of services and programs and the smooth operation of the Center, in collaboration with all staff.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating health programs in different community settings.
- Knowledge of community resources, especially health and social services.
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
- Proficiency in computer use (Microsoft Office, Internet, and email).
- Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a car.
- A criminal records check will be required before hiring.
Work Conditions
Salary range: $61,994.53 – $80,068
