Clinical Scholar RN Medical Surgical Floor – Temporary Full-Time

Status: Temporary, Full Time

Department: Med/Surg

Salary: $41.42 to $59.36 (hourly)

Location: Hospital, SJGHEL

Required Qualifications:

- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum of 5 years nursing experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Med/Surg & OBS program
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:

- Effectively uses the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the patient.
- Compliant with legislation, organizational and departmental, regulations, standards and procedures related to occupational health and safety and IPAC best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain successful working relationships; ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring manner, both in person and on the telephone; tact, courtesy and alertness in public contacts.
- Provides health teaching to patients and family.
- Provides assistance in planning corrective actions to ensure safety for patients and staff.
- Previous experience teaching, working with clinical learners and/or precepting.
- Enthusiasm for teaching, continuous learning and nursing.
- Demonstrated leadership, change management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in all assigned areas
- Ability to work weekends and shift work
- Ability to organize time effectively to perform the duties of the position
