About the Opportunity

We are looking for a driven, strategic, and relationship-focused Business Development Executive to lead our firm’s growth in Alberta — with a primary focus on capturing significant market share in Calgary.

This is a key, high-visibility role for an entrepreneurial professional who excels at cultivating trust-based partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering measurable results. As the face of our firm in Alberta, you will take ownership of expanding our referral network within the Real Estate and Mortgage sectors, driving both file count and revenue growth through strong, meaningful relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Growth & Strategic Partnerships

- Market Leadership: Design and execute a strategy to “win Calgary” — growing our brand presence and market share across Alberta.

- Relationship Management: Build, strengthen, and sustain referral partnerships with realtors, brokers, agents, and financial professionals.

- Revenue Growth: Own the process of identifying, pursuing, and converting new business opportunities that directly increase firm revenue and file volume.

- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement forward-looking business development strategies aligned with firm-wide goals.

Sales Process & Collaboration

- Execution: Deliver and continuously refine a tailored business development plan for the Alberta region.

- Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform strategic action.

- Opportunity Development: Identify and pursue high-value referral sources and mandates.

- Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including lawyers and marketing, to create compelling pitches, proposals, and campaigns.

- Events & Brand Presence: Lead or support joint events, sponsorships, and co-branded opportunities to elevate firm visibility and engagement.

What We Offer

Salary: $80,000 CAD

Bonus: Up to 20% of base salary, based on KPIs (eligible after probation)

Vacation: 2 weeks + recharge days and extended holiday periods (subject to blackout dates)

Travel: ~25% within Alberta; mileage reimbursed per firm policy

What We’re Looking For

- Required Experience & Attributes

- Experienced: 3–7 years in business development, sales, or relationship management.

- Connected: You’ve built referral-based business in real estate, financial services, or professional sectors — and you know how to grow it.

- Entrepreneurial: You thrive in autonomy, see opportunities where others see barriers, and don’t wait for instructions to make things happen.

- Market-Savvy: You know Alberta’s real estate and mortgage landscape — its people, pace, and what drives decisions.

- On the Move: You have a reliable vehicle and enjoy being out meeting partners face-to-face (approximately 25% travel).

Bonus Points For

- An existing network within Calgary or Alberta’s real estate, mortgage, or private lending community.

- Previous experience as a realtor, broker, or agent — or in a professional services firm.

- Strength in partnership development, affiliate marketing, or event collaboration.

- Familiarity with how legal services fit into the real estate and mortgage process.

Work Environment

- Hybrid Model: 2 in-office days per week at our Calgary/Alberta base office.

- Onboarding: Initial 30 days in-office for immersion into firm operations and Alberta’s unique P/L structure.
