Hiring

We are currently hiring 1 Lift Operations Lead Hand (MSW2).

Responsibilities

- Assist with the Winter Grooming Program by operating snowcats and snowmobile grooming machines to maximize trail grooming production on Hidden Valley ski trails.
- Inspect, maintain and clean grooming equipment.
- Coordinate grooming and snow‑making operations with the Snowmaking Supervisor and Operations Supervisor.
- Respond to public inquiries and address safety concerns.
- Perform daily operational checks and support equipment troubleshooting and repairs.

Qualifications

- Familiar with OH&S policies, procedures and protocols, and the Facility Emergency Response Plan.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience operating medium and heavy equipment (OHVs, skidsteers, loaders, graders, excavators, groomers).
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and work outdoors in winter for long periods.
- Experience completing administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims and online courses.
- Experience conducting formal inspections and maintaining equipment.
- Onsite lead for a crew of MSW staff, accountable for direct site operations and scheduling other staff.
- Perform trail maintenance projects and maintain roads and parking lot areas.

Additional Requirements

- Access to reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.
- 5‑year Commercial Driver’s Abstract prior to commencement.
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C” / AED Certificate prior to commencement.
- Adherence to Alberta Parks Uniform Policy; all PPE is provided.
- Acceptance of outdoor work in varied weather conditions.

Experience and Education

- Some high school education and 1 year of related experience.
- 500‑1000 hrs of operating and maintaining grooming equipment.
- Experience with snowmaking and lift operations in an alpine setting.
- Completion of or experience with current GOA supervisory and 1GX training.
- Well‑developed oral and written English skills.
