Position Summary

We are seeking two Maintenance Mechanics to join our growing team As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will work on a variety of production machines to keep our production facility working at peak efficiency. You will also perform preventative maintenance and general maintenance tasks for the facility.

Positions

Position 1:

- Full-time
- PM Shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
- Monday to Friday

Position 2:

- Full-time OR part-time
- Weekend Shift (Saturday and Sunday) for both options
- Additional weekdays if full-time

- Reports into the Maintenance Team Lead

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary

- Set up, dismantle and troubleshoot nutraceutical and pharmaceutical production machines using hand and power tools, including encapsulation, tableting, pouching, packaging line, and blistering machines.
- Problem solve issues and breakdowns on a variety of machinery and systems including electrical, mechanical and HVAC.
- Inspect machine parts and tooling to maintain quality control standards.
- Inspect and examine machinery to detect discrepancies, defects, and failures.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine preventative maintenance work on a variety of equipment.
- Communicate actions taken and solutions found to operators and management.
- Assist with and perform tasks associated with the preventative maintenance program.
- Follow all applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain safety, quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in and provide suggestions for the development and continuous improvement of all departmental processes.

Additional

- Contribute to updating related SOPs.
- Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness of assigned area.
- Participate in and further the Company's health & safety program.
- Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Report quality deficiencies immediately.
- Other related duties.

Qualifications

Knowledge

- Fluent in verbal and written English.
- Experience with Programming Logic Control (PLC) or Automation.
- 2 years of experience with electrical maintenance.
- Certified millwright.

Assets

- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Red Seal certification in a trade, especially electrical.
- Experience with mechanical maintenance.
- Experience with HVAC maintenance.

Skills

- Willingness to learn.
- Intermediate proficiency in the analysis and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Basic proficiency in mathematics (adding, subtracting, multiplying & dividing).
- Intermediate proficiency in using computers.
- Advanced proficiency in the use of variety of hand and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving.
- Strong logic.
- Strong internal client service.
- Strong attention to detail.

Abilities

- Lift a minimum of 25 kg.
- Work independently on assigned duties.
- Balance a variety of competing priorities while meeting deadlines.

Health

- Must be in good health with no communicable diseases or dust allergies.
- Must wear approved non-slip safety shoes.
- Must follow appropriate gowning procedure before going into production area.
- Follow health & safety regulations.
