Family Wellness Coordinator

The Family Wellness Care Provider will work within a multi-disciplinary team in training/group facilitation, to provide community/program development and outreach/follow-up support services.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Good working knowledge of family violence, domestic abuse, addictions and related issues.
- One-two years recent related addictions counselling experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience with Prevention and Community Development an asset.
- Case Management experience an asset.
- Working with individuals/families or community groups to assess, identify barriers and opportunities, and assist them in creating a realistic action plan.
- Coordination and Implementation of the Domestic Violence Program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in social work or psychology.
- Or possess a Human Services related Certificate and/or Diploma from a recognized institution or equivalent experience and education.
- Background knowledge and skills of Addictions/Life skills impacting the Health of Individuals.
- Demonstrated ability as a Group Facilitator.
- Certified Counsellor or willingness to work towards certified counsellor.
- Possess a good working knowledge of First Nations culture, values, language, spirituality and community life on the reserves.
- Recognized certified training that is directly related to community development/wellness lifestyles.
- Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Class 5 Drivers License.
Job Description:
- Provide program delivery to clients dealing with family violence, domestic abuse, addictions and related issues.
- Provide assistance, support and referrals to appropriate community-based agencies and organizations.
- Provide quarterly reports to the PAGC Women's Commission.
- Promote prevention, education and awareness of abuse related issues.
- Advocate and liaison on behalf of clients.
- Initiate network and contact with other agencies and organizations is essential.
- Complete program statistics and financial reports as required.
- Perform other duties as directed.
