The University Neighbourhoods Association (UNA) is a not-for-profit organization that provides municipal-like services to approximately 15,000 residents who live in the University of British Columbia's Point Grey campus. At the UNA, we have built a workplace culture centred around creating strong and diverse communities.
Under the direction of the Assistant Recreation Manager – Programs & Events, the Event Coordinator will develop, coordinate and advance the operational effectiveness of key UNA events. The Event Coordinator will identify and implement tactics to expand the profile of UNA events, while evolving execution with a focus on increasing attendance, engagement and revenue at all events.
The position works primarily out of offices located in Wesbrook Community Centre and Old Barn Community Centre during regular business hours. The preferred candidate will be expected to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, and in varying UNA locations as necessary to best support community organizing groups and the UNA Recreation Department during events and other peak operational times.
Minimum Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of five years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Considerable project management and event experience gained through progressively more responsible positions with an emphasis on service delivery.
• Demonstrated financial accountability and financial fluency.
• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and alliances with volunteers, partners, business communities, association partners and staff.
This position offers a competitive wage and a flexible work schedule. Working at the UNA means a challenging and rewarding career where your goals are supported, your creativity is valued, and your colleagues are collaborative.
If you want to join our highly engaged and talented team and make direct impacts in the community, please submit your resume and cover letter by April 1st, 2025, to:
