Chainsaw Operator page is loaded## Chainsaw Operatorlocations: Winnipeg, Manitobatime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: JR121144# **Wright Tree Service of Canada****The Position:** Chainsaw Operator**Type:** Full-time **Reports To:** General ForepersonWright Tree Service, a business unit of Wright Canada Holdings, provides vegetation management, storm restoration, and work planning services to utility companies and their communities across North America.**Why Wright Canada Holdings:*** A Company Culture of Safety, Family, Integrity, Excellence and Stewardship.* Pay rate of $28 to $36 per hour based on experience.* We provide ALL equipment needed except your CSA Certified Work Boots.* Working shifts of 10 days on and 4 days off or 14 days on with 7 days off.* Compensated travel time, depending on working location, and live out allowance.* Medical and Dental benefits.* Employee Ownership potential.**Key Responsibilities:*** Help with tree removal and disposal of limbs, branches, tree debris, and underbrush around utility lines.* Participate in tree planting and care, ensuring proper planting techniques and soil management.* Operate and maintain arborist tools and equipment (chainsaws, ropes, etc.) safely and efficiently.* Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment, including helmets, gloves, and harnesses.* Work with the team to ensure that work is done efficiently and according to industry standards.* Keep work areas clean and organized, removing debris and ensuring a safe environment for the crew.* Attend training sessions and learn from experienced arborists to build knowledge in tree care techniques and vegetation management.* Ensure work is done in compliance with environmental regulations, minimizing damage to natural habitats and wildlife.* Be willing to grow and learn in the role, through training from a designated arborist.* Other duties as required.**Experience and Knowledge Expectations:*** Basic knowledge of trees, including identification and growth habits.* Minimum of one year of chainsaw experience.* Utility Tree Worker certification would be considered an asset.* High School Diploma or equivalent.* Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record; air brakes endorsement is a plus.* Applicant must pass pre-employment drug screening.* Valid First-Aid and CPR certificates.* Willingness to travel within the province of Manitoba.* Ability to work as part of a team in physically demanding environments.* Motivated to learn independently and from team members, with strong time management skills.* Proficiency in operating and maintaining tools and equipment.* Comfortable working in noisy environments with proper PPE.* Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and participate in on-call rotations during emergencies.**Join Our Team:**Wright Tree Service of Canada is a business unit of an employee-owned company formed in 2017, known as Wright Canada Holdings (WCH).
