About Potash
The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.
Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location
This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located near LeRoy, SK. The role will initially be a 7 days on/7 off rotation, 12 hr dayshifts.
If you do not currently reside in within the Jansen regions, you may choose to relocate, supported by a comprehensive relocation package, or to stay in Jansen’s Discovery Lodge while on shift.
Purpose
Reporting to the Mining System Maintenance Superintendent, the Coordinator will be part of the Underground Maintenance team based at the Jansen Site. The Coordinator will effectively help support the assembly of continuous boring machines, extensible belt and auxiliary systems related to production mining. Ownership of additional assets will grow as the mine expands.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Create work orders and execute pre-job planning work for the department.
- Update and manage L5 schedule of mining system activities, including durations and resource loading. Aiding Supervision and crews alike to keep schedules on track.
- Purchase shop tools, equipment and parts. Track budget spending.
- Create and revise maintenance work instructions and procedures.
- Be able to learn and adhere to applicable BHP company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with other interfacing site personnel and contractors.
- Engage in field safety activities (FLEX), risk assessments and toolbox meetings.
- Support/maintain BHP Operating System practices.
- Be able to support as Supervision when required. Obtaining and maintaining an Underground Supervisor certificate will be required.
- Engage and participate in all classroom, in-field and on-the-job training.
About You
- An individual who is self-motivated with an aptitude for learning and understanding equipment operation and maintenance.
- A person who holds certification as a mechanical engineer, mechanical technologist, project manager or a journeyperson in a suitable trade.
- Applicable experience in the mining industry, preferably potash. (Minimum 3 Years)
- Experience using an asset management system such as SAP
- A strong safety conscious mindset.
- An individual looking to be part of a positive team environment.
