Role Overview

Reporting to the Health Safety & Environment Manager, the Environmental Coordinator will support environmental compliance, reporting, monitoring programs, and sustainability initiatives. The Environmental Coordinator is a key role in maintaining and enhancing our environmental performance in line with provincial and federal regulations, as well as corporate standards.

Responsibilities

- Support day-to-day operations of Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), anaerobic & sludge dewatering department and air pollution control equipment.
- Provide recommendations and support to operations departments and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot & analyze environmental equipment operating problems &/or equipment failures.
- Monitor, collect, and analyze environmental data (e.g., water, air, effluent, and solid waste).
- Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate environmental sampling programs and maintain sampling equipment.
- Assist in maintaining ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Conduct internal audits and participate in third-party inspections.
- Promote environmental awareness and provide training to operational staff.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and projects that enhance environmental performance.

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology or equivalent.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
