**Directors, Position Descriptions: Vice-President (2)**

My Artist’s Corner (MAC) Society is a non-profit society providing opportunities for artists living with mental health issues in Burnaby and New Westminster. MAC’s mission is “_to empower individuals to explore their artistic potential on their journey of mental health & wellness, while combating stigma through highlighting abilities rather than disabilities_”. Members of the Board inspire others to support our artists. They are leaders in promoting our artists in the community. In partnership with the President, the Vice-Presidents work to ensure that the future direction and programs of MAC inspire and support the members’ artistic journeys.

**Responsible to**:Board of Directors (President)

**Responsibilities**:

- Vice-President facilitates monthly Board meetings in rotation with the President and Vice-President
- Meets regularly with President and Program Coordinator to discuss work of the Board
- Coordinates the performance evaluation of the MAC Program Coordinator
- Along with the President, Vice-president will recruit, onboard and support new members of the Board
- Promotes the organization in the community
- Supports fundraising initiatives and is involved in the budget planning for the organization with the Board Treasurer
- Sits on Board Committees outside of monthly meetings related to the strategic goals of the organization

**Essential Skills & Experience**:

- Planning Ability
- Strong Communicator
- Knowledge of Board Governance. Experience in and/or familiarity with the policy governance model of Not-for Profit Governance is a definite asset.
- Understands Evaluation
- Experience with delivery of Mental Health Services and non-profit agencies is an asset
- Serve as knowledge centre in the area(s) of fundraising or grant writing, website development, or social media.
- Ability to analyze and take risks

- Criminal record check
- Two references.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 2 per week

**Salary**: $1.00 per year
