**This role**:

- Works as a technical/specialist resource to lead a team responsible for identifying and developing key partnership opportunities, including joint initiatives, events and other collaborative initiatives to support economic development, investment attraction and ecosystem building for the region.
- Responsible for overseeing collaborative efforts with key partners including industries and industry clusters, boards of trade and other community partners. Works closely with the Invest Vancouver Advisory Committee, business associations and other key partners to identify and develop strategies to address key challenges and promote transformational opportunities impacting targeted export-oriented industries.
- Takes the lead role in developing and maintaining productive working relationships with key industry, community and post-secondary contacts and sources opportunities for collaborative partnerships, initiatives and events.
- Responsible for Invest Vancouver’s communication strategy and oversees the preparation of a range of communication materials including digital media assets (website, social media, e-newsletters, etc.), media releases, reports and recommendations. May deliver or review and approve presentations for various audiences as required.
- Responsible for the Invest Vancouver brand, including brand positioning, brand strategies, and brand consistency. Further, responsible for leading the team to activate on brand and communications strategies. This work involves hosting significant events, launching reports and initiatives, supporting strategic and transformational economic development opportunities, and leveraging shared, owned, earned and paid communication channels.
- Works across departments and organizations to ensure key leaders representing Invest Vancouver, as part of the Metro Vancouver Regional District, are meaningfully partnered and positioned as a part of key events and initiatives.
- Manages budgets related to collaboration functions in order to optimize use of funds to advance key priorities.
- Analyzes key performance indicators and adapts collaboration strategies based on data to enhance outcomes.
- Hires, manages and supervises staff. Monitors team and individual performance towards division, department and corporate objectives. Ensures staff adhere to corporate workplace conduct policies. Leads, coaches and mentors staff; determines developmental requirements; provides ongoing and timely feedback; and supports the resolution of technical and interpersonal issues staff encounter while doing their work.
- Performs other related duties as required.

**To be successful, you have**:

- University degree or diploma in business, public administration, economic development, communications, or other relevant discipline. 7 years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Designation or interest in pursuing designation as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) or with the International Association of Business Communicators Canada (IABC).
- Sound expertise and demonstrated ability for sourcing collaborative partnerships; using best practices and processes to plan, create and implement effective initiatives with diverse impacts to the region.
- Strong project management skills and ability to create and maintain organized systems of operation.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering papers and presentations to committees and boards.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders under circumstances that may be highly sensitive or adversarial. Demonstrated skill in dealing openly, tactfully and sensitively in a variety of situations.
