The Canadian Bar Association - Alberta Branch (CBA Alberta) is a non-profit organization, and is the voice of Canada’s legal profession, providing professional development and networking opportunities to law students, judges, academics, and other members of the Alberta bar.

The Membership & Communications team develops and executes membership and communications strategies that are aligned with CBA Alberta’s value proposition, mission, and values. Under the direction of the Manager of Member Services & Communications and in support of organization leadership, members and volunteers, the Member Services Coordinator aids in the execution of these strategies through hands-on support of member programs and services.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead association member recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Coordinate annual plan to target legal employers, young lawyers, and other priority groups.
- Support planning and execution of annual law student awareness strategy and organize related activities and events.
- Identify under-represented or under-engaged member groups and support the development of plans for outreach.
- Oversee all association mentor programs, including programs for young lawyers and law students.
- Develop and manage collection, reporting and analysis of member data to support association strategic planning and decision-making. Leverage survey tools to increase member engagement and feedback.
- Respond to member inquiries related to benefits, programs, services, or problems.
- Provide organization and support related to special events, as needed.
- Work with other stakeholders or CBA provincial offices on shared activities, as required.
- Other duties as required to meet the evolving needs of the association and its mandate.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum 5 years experience working in a member, client, or customer-serving role.
- A post-secondary education in a related discipline is an asset, but an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Direct experience with a non-profit, membership-based organization is an asset.
- Experience collecting, synthesizing and analysing customer or member data would be an asset.
- Experience with iMIS or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Microsoft Teams, and demonstrated comfort in learning new software as necessary to execute programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience working with volunteers and committees.
- Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.
- A proven team player, who also enjoys working independently with mínimal supervision.
- A self-starter with excellent self-management skills, including time management and task prioritization, with the ability to proactively identify, problem solve, and/or seek support in removing obstacles to achieving desired results within areas of responsibility and in adherence with established guidelines
