Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator

**-Summary**

The company is a precision manufacturer of machining and sheet metal parts. It is a very fast-paced and detail-oriented environment. The primary mandate of the Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator is to plan and purchase general and specialized materials, hardwares, subcontractors and services for job processing and CAPEX / services for internal use by the company.

He/she shall act as a liaison between the departments of sales, finance, production, and quality to make sure planning for the jobs and the purchasing are aligned in order to meet customer requirements and deliver on-time.

**Main duties**

The Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator is expected to:

- Create and send purchase orders
- Follow up on purchase order details (date, attributes, readiness of product)
- In collaboration with suppliers, ensure that deliveries are made as per operational requirements
- Follow up on the reception of all purchase order as per the receiving calendar and planned production
- Analyse inventory and prioritize as per min and max set requirements
- In collaboration with the logistic team, coordinate transportation, obtain transportation quote, follow-up on timing to ensure on time delivery.

and any other related task deemed necessary.

**Employment requirements**
- 5 to 10 years experience as a buyer or planner in the manufacturing industry
- Degree in supply chain management, business administration, operations management, planning, or relevant fields, an asset
- Computer skills (ex. ERP, Excel)
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Cost management and negotiation skills
- Experience in machining industry, an asset
- Experience in reading drawings.
- Bilingual - French and English, an asset
