Fire Testing Technician

Overview:
Element is looking for a highly motivated **Technician** to conduct various fire performance tests, including the analysis of test results to well defined standards and/or standard operating procedures. This position involves sample preparation, physical testing, scheduling, equipment setup, maintenance / calibration, client interaction, and report writing.
**Responsibilities**:
- Safely test materials associated with recognized flammability property standards, sample preparation, data collection & analysis, and report preparation.
- Participate in client correspondence and project coordination.
- Purchase equipment & materials and maintain equipment.
- Maintain equipment calibration.
- All work is to be conducted as per Element H&S procedures and industry-accepted safety protocols.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Completion of a 2-year college program in engineering or technology and/or 1-year of experience in an engineering environment.
- Ability to adapt and to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate).
- Experience with common construction power and hand tools.
- Proficient in MS Office
