Accountable to the Managing Director with overall responsibility and authority for the day-to-day operations of a 100 -160 bed facility including resident care, programs, services, environmental, building maintenance, and fiscal performance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Excellent working knowledge of FLTCA, 2021, and the O.Regs to ensure that the facility is compliant with the Acts and Regulations governing the LTC and other pertinent legislated requirements regulating the operation of a LTC facility.
- Development, maintenance and implementation of operational policies and procedures manuals, incluing mission, philosopy of care and description of departmental function, in collaboration with the facility managment team.
- Ensure safe operation of the home and remain in compliance with all legislation, follow-up and corrective action plans if required by the MOLTC, Fire Dept, PH MOL etc. Oversee the Infection Prevention and Control program to ensure preparation, oversight and planning for outbreaks, pandemics etc.
- Actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement planning and implementation strategies in compliance with the FLTCA, 2021. Actively prepare the home for Accreditation surveys and inspections.
- Ensure excellent customer satisfaction for residents and families.
- Preparation, implementation and management of operational and departmental budgets in collaboration with department managers and according to the established polices and procedures.
- Oversee hiring, staffing, progressive discipline, employee termination, including union grievances and mediation/arbitration hearings. Actively participate in union negotiations for the renewal of collective agreement. Responsible for effective control of WSIB Program, claim management and return to work.
- Implement and maintain a performance appraisal system for all staff.
- Review and update all service agreements and contracts with external service providers.
- Oversee maintenance department and ensure effective maintenance program is in place to provide a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
- Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS;
Recognized three (3) year degree in related field or two (2) year diploma in health or social services.

At least three (3) years managerial/ supervisory capacity in health sector.

*Must have completed the Long Term Care home Administrator/manangement course as required in Ontario to meet the reqirements for Administrator under the FLTCA, 2021.

A solid knowledge and understanding of he FLTCA, 2021 and Rgulations 246/22 as well as other pertinant legislation. Knowledge of financial accounting and budgets as it relates to MOLTC reporting.

At least three years of relevant management experience in long-term care.

Mature with excellent communicaiton and leadership skills.
