**Reports to**:Tavern United Manager

**Position Summary**:
As the first point of customer contact the Hostess/Host is responsible for greeting and escorting guests to tables in the restaurant and ensure the provision of exceptional guest services through the efficient organization of the dining room environment.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Answers the phone and accepts reservations in accordance with accepted practices;
- Knowledgeable with regards to operating hours of all corporate food and beverage outlets, menu items, ingredients and any promotions/events, etc.;
- Prepares seating assignments in accordance with reservations before each meal period, considering special requests of guests and preferred or required needs;
- Provides adequate supplies of table place settings and any miscellaneous supplies for server work stations;
- Coordinates the dining room by rotating guest seating to ensure servers are able to provide timely and prompt customer services;
- Escorts and seats guests to tables, presents menu's, removes unnecessary place settings, informs guests of any daily specials and their servers name;
- Routinely walks through the dining room to ensure guests are satisfied; answers questions; advises servers of any specific guest service needs;
- Responds to any guest request or complaints in a calm respectful and professional manner;
- Anticipates guest transition and timing of table turns;
- Thanks each guest as the depart and request feedback;

**Education and Experience**:

- High School Diploma or GED preferred;
- A minimum one year previous hospitality service experience;
- Possess Serving it Safe Certification;
- Knowledge of reservation systems.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Ability to understand and communicate both orally and in writing in English;
- Ability to effectively and efficiently recognize and resolve issues and concerns;
- Consistently exemplify a professional attitude and demeanor;
- Strong ability and willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

**Working Conditions**:

- Stand, walk and remain on feet throughout the duration of scheduled shift;
- Able to work a variety of shifts including, days, evenings and weekends;
- Ability to successfully attain a clear criminal record check
