**Position Overview**
In consultation with the Director, Human Resources, this position provides coordination and administrative support for Human Resource services at SPL.

This position supports the Human Resources Consultants and Director,

Human Resources to ensure timely information, service and advice is provided to employees and management. The Human Resources Coordinator provides support regarding human resource-related matters in accordance with professional human resource practices, SPL policies and procedures, representative workplace strategies, related collective agreements, and labour legislation and regulations.

**Key Duties**

2. Provide coordination and support for learning and development, including coordinating logistics, administering assessments and evaluations, scheduling training sessions, organizing registrations, responding to inquiries, researching training programs and providers, preparing materials and maintaining training records.

3. Perform new hire set-ups, transfers, promotions, terminations and related employee transactions within the HRIS system.

5. Assist, support, conduct research and prepare reports on behalf of the

Director, Human Resources.

6. Provide general administrative support for Human Resources

Consultants and Director as required. General administrative tasks may

include filing, minute taking and setting up meetings for the department.

7. Provide Human Resources advice, frameworks and procedures in alignment with community needs and SPL’s Strategic Plan.

8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- A university degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent undergraduate degree, or a two-year Human Resources diploma along with two years of relevant experience.
- More than one year of experience in human resources. Experience and knowledge of SAP and Success Factors and experience working in a unionized environment are considered assets.
- Knowledge of principles, standards and concepts of the relevant Human

Resource functions.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Proven success at working with others in a collaborative environment, with a commitment to effective communication and a shared responsibility for service excellence.
- Demonstrated ability in handling complex and varied workloads in a flexible manner.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, adapt to changing priorities and understand and execute instructions both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to learn new skills and be a self-directed learner.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently display professionalism while providing services to a diverse range of employees and library patrons.
- A current, acceptable Criminal Record Check is required.
