The receptionist reports to the Rector of Saint Mary's Cathedral Basilica and is the initial point of contact for all phone and in-person requests. They are responsible for providing information, direction, and assistance to individuals, parishes, and archdiocesan staff. In addition, the receptionist will be responsible for administrative and clerical tasks that require meticulous attention to detail, great communication skills (both written and spoken), and a solution-focused mindset.
- Grade 12 plus completion of an office administration or secretarial diploma or certification and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative role.
- Above-average written and oral communication skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- The ability to prioritize and work well in a multi-task environment and as part of a team, with confidence to shift smoothly between and among different initiatives.
- Must-meet Responsible Ministry Protocol criteria: clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.

This is a full-time employment of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. A complete job description is available on request.
