A typical day for the Business Resilience Specialist
**Business Resilience Program**:

- Define, develop, implement, and maintain integrated program documentation and strategies;
- Ensure the program and all supporting documentation is consistently applied and aligned throughout the Corporation;
- Develop and manage program document repositories (e.g., Teams) to provide effective change management, access security controls, and timely/flexible access to content

**Crisis Management**:

- Define, develop, implement, and maintain effective Crisis Management Plan strategies and documentation;
- In the event of a crisis, provide support and coaching to Crisis Management Team members with key guidance on coordinated response protocols, business area plans, and available recovery infrastructure;
- Monitor business area disruption responses, mitigation strategies, and escalating conditions and provide appropriate support and guidance;
- Support communication and escalation capabilities during business disruption events

**Business Continuity Planning (BCP)**:

- Define, develop, implement and maintain effective BCP documentation, strategies and supporting infrastructure;
- Support and coach business area stakeholders in the timely review and maintenance of their respective plan content;
- Perform Business Impact Analysis (BIA) before changes in business policies, procedures, organization structure, dependencies (work area, personnel, technology and partners) and/or infrastructure;
- Monitor potential events (e.g., postal strike) and ensure plan and response team readiness.

**Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP)**:

- Define, develop, and implement effective DRP documentation;
- Coach applicable IST stakeholders in the timely maintenance of their respective plan content;
- Proactively monitor changes to business Maximum Tolerable Outage (MTO), Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and work with IT team members to implement recovery solutions to support business expectations;
- Monitor information technology (IT) changes with a focus on timely, cost-effective, and essential service to the business;
- Identify and document opportunities for improvement and work with IT stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

What you bring
- ABCP certification and eight+ years of directly related experience; or CBCP certification and five+ years of directly related experience or 10+ years of direct information technology experience related to Business Resilience and Crisis Management in a medium or large organization
- Expert knowledge in the development, implementation, and sustainment of a Business Resilience program for small to medium-sized business
- Understanding of the following standards and agencies: Canadian Standards Association (CSA), International Standards Organization (ISO) and Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA)/GoA Standards
- Understanding of IT management and governance frameworks, including COBIT and ITIL
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong team orientation and collaboration skills
