**Bookkeeper**
- A non-profit, neighbourhood-based community centre providing a wide range of programs and services to the community. _

Position Title: Bookkeeper

**Salary**: Wage Grade 8 - Step 1 $25.35 /hr (CUPE 2998)

Benefits: Mandatory benefits only

Hours: 20-24 hours per week. 3 days a week

Accountability: Finance Director

Status: Part Time, Union position

**PURPOSE**:
Community Centre 55 is a community-based organization, developed by and accountable to the community. The main purpose of Community Centre 55 is community service delivery and to act as an intermediary organization facilitating the development of the community by helping it to strengthen its capacity to fulfil its own needs. **BOOKKEEPING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DUTIES**
- Require strong accounting skills, accuracy and detail oriented individual
- Familiar with Sage 300 and EXCEL software.
- Maintains confidential files and records information.
- Processes cheque requisitions for approval by the Finance &
Business Director, Executive Director and Treasurer.
- Prepares cheques, EFT, and bank transfers for payments
- Calculates and processes payroll
- Maintains confidential payroll files in SAGE 300
- Maintains confidential employee files, pay rates, benefits
- Maintains confidential and accurate disciplinary employee files
- Prepares offers of OMERS and Benefits to all employees
- Prepares EHT reports
- Prepares WSIB and Benefits reports
- Assists in collecting and maintain confidential information data for all union grievances
- Maintains internal audit of bank deposits to receipts written and reports discrepancies to Business Manager.
- Prepares banking transactions for deposit
- Helps prepare and inputs on Sage 300, monthly, G/L transactions
- Assists Business Manager input internal budgets to Sage
- Assists in analysis of balance sheet accounts in preparation for closing all fiscal year end books.
- Assists Business Manager in preparing audit files to help facilitate the annual audit.
- Assists Finance & Business Director to research and compile information for reports to Board of Management, staff and City of

Toronto departments.
- Processes charitable tax receipts annually
- Compiles and keeps updated LVS reports, for Lieu time, vacation and sick time as applicable, Disperses to employees and respective

Managers.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Fast and accurate computer skills Microsoft Word with Windows,

Sage 300 and Excel
- Must have minimum of five years bookkeeping experience
- Experience preparing Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and

Budgets
- Excellent interpersonal skills-excellent verbal and written skills.
- Must be punctual, accurate and detail oriented.
- Knowledge of GAAP and CAS
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends/holidays
- Pass a vulnerable sector criminal background check
- Other duties as assigned by the Finance & Business Director
