Reporting to the Director of Fund Development, the Marketing Specialist will provide leadership and guidance through the development of effective communication and marketing strategies and tools. You will be an invaluable part of the Causeway team, helping to develop and distribute a variety of tools and materials that support Causeway’s key messaging to engage audiences and stakeholders, and support Causeway’s fundraising activities.

**What will my duties include?**

**Communications Responsibilities**
- Assist in the development of an annual joint communications and fund development plan by identifying communications goals and strategies. All goals and strategies are aligned with Causeway’s Strategic Plan.
- Collaborate with the Fund Development and Communications Team to maintain a campaign calendar.
- Work collaboratively with senior management and other staff to build awareness of and enhance Causeway’s brand internally and externally.

- Work collaboratively with senior management to assist with internal communications.
- Ensure all written and visual works align with Causeway’s Soul Guide (key messaging, brand voice, values, etc.)
- Design, develop, and distribute key agency communications pieces such as the annual report and the quarterly e-newsletter.
- Maintain and update Causeway’s website and the websites of our social enterprises.
- Write engaging stories about Causeway participants that demonstrate the impact of the work we do.
- Assist with event planning and execution.

**Marketing, Social media & Media Responsibilities**
- Design, distribute, and maintain a variety of marketing and promotional materials for Causeway and its social enterprises including: brochures, rack cards, flyers, one-pagers, impact reports, slideshow presentations, and ads.
- Support the development of processes, voice, and tone of responding to community comments and inquiries over social media - developing and maintaining community guidelines and policies.
- Maintain relationships with a list of key contacts within the organization for the purposes of responding to community inquiries over all mediums - you’re not expected to know all the answers, but you’ll need to know how to find them.
- Maintain a stock of marketing materials and monitor their use, reordering as needed.
- Maintain tools and materials for events including a table kit.
- Compose compelling, branded content for social media including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, and for Causeway’s website blog.
- Monitor Causeway’s social media channels and produce/share content on a regular basis.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with key media people, triage requests from media, prepare news releases, and write content.
- Provide support and media training for individuals speaking to media on behalf of Causeway.

**Data Analysis and Reporting Responsibilities**
- Review social media analytics and generate monthly reports.
- Develop a bimonthly communication reports to include the Executive Director’s board report.
- Other duties as required.

**What will I bring to the organization?**
- University/College degree or diploma or equivalent/relevant communication experience
- Experience developing and implementing communications plans and strategies
- Experience creating content in line with organizational branding
- Expertise in marketing and demonstrated ability to increase brand awareness and audience engagement
- Prior work or volunteer experience in a nonprofit or registered charity preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is required. French communication skills are considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience coordinating projects from start to finish
- Experience with social media management for organizations
- Good judgement and decision-making skills
- Self-motivated and independent worker, skilled at staying organized and prioritizing multiple projects.
- Effective interpersonal skills, capable of exercising independent judgment, initiative and flexibility.
