**Overview**:
Newley opened Mediterranean cafe which offer a variety of Mediterranean inspired desserts and beverages is looking for exited and passionate pastry chef to join our staff team. The cafe is a mix of a desserts, sweets and coffee shop bringing Mediterranean coffee and sweets to professionals, locals, and tourist in the downtown Vancouver area. The Pastry Cook is responsible for creating and preparing various desserts and pastries including cheesecakes, chocolate cake, baklava, rice pudding, etc..

**Responsibilities**:

- Working and training in a premium kitchen environment
- Prepare food and dessert to standard recipes for customers
- Performing food preparation and executing responsibilities
- Focusing on quality, food preparation standards, and consistency
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace
- Maintains a calm attitude during periods of high volume
- Assists with new staff training by giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed
- Upholds and complies with company procedures and standards in all situations
- Stocking and ordering products
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
- Must have at lease two years of work experience in the same field
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Available to work flexible hours
- Meets required dress code
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
- Possess strong customer service qualities
- Must be able to safely lift 40 lbs.

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Tips

**Experience**:

- Baking: 2 years (required)

**Language**:

- Arabic or Turkish (preferred)

Work Location: One location
