**Some of what you will do**:
Reporting into the Logistics Manager of the Supply Chain Strategy & Capabilities team, as a Logistics Specialist you will play a crucial role in optimizing 3rd party fulfillment and transportation operations to align with Staples' strategic goals. You'll manage 3PL relationships, monitor performance, and drive cost-effective supply chain operations while maintaining our commitment to service level agreements (SLAs) and efficient cost management.

**Specifically, You Will**:
**Vendor Management and Contract Compliance**:

- Foster strong relationships with our 3PL provider.
- Ensure strict adherence to all contractual obligations and SLAs.
- Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to review and amend contracts as needed.
- Working with the Logistics Manager, proactively address contract-related issues and disputes.

**Performance Monitoring**:

- Collaborate closely with our 3PL provider and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of goods through the supply chain.
- Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and the 3PL provider to address operational and transportation issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track 3PL performance and ensure alignment with SLAs.
- Troubleshoot quality issues, mis-ships, short ships and manage inventory damages.

**Budget and Cost Management**:

- Work with finance and procurement teams to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.
- Analyze budget variances, track expenses, and provide recommendations for cost control and reduction.
- Support billing and claims processes.

**Process Improvement**:

- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives within 3PL operations.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency of the 3PL, including introducing best practices.
- Support the development and communication of periodic (e.g., annual, monthly) inbound and outbound forecasts as needed.

**Reporting and Ad-Hoc Support**:

- Support the preparation of comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and action plans to senior management.
- Conduct periodic business reviews with the 3PL provider to assess performance, review key metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the business through ad-hoc queries and analysis as required.

**Some of what you need**:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or CSCP, CITT or PMP certifications are a plus.
- 3- 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a focus on 3PL provider management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage relationships with 3PL providers.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Proven experience in budget management, contract compliance, and performance measurement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive process improvements.
- Project management skills and experience leading/supporting cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in logistics and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with supply chain software and technologies, including ERP, WMS and TMS can be advantageous.
