**Job Overview**

We are seeking a part-time Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper to be part of our Finance team. Under the direction of the CFO and Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper acts as the main administrator for the Accounts Payable function of the company. This role is also responsible to reconcile and maintain CDCI’s Trial Balance, from monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations to compiling year end data for the external accountants.

This role also assists with administrative procedures of the Vancouver office and performs various projects as assigned by the CFO.

Duties Include:

- ** Complete monthly Accounts Payable and accounting duties by**:

- Coding and posting invoices, and verifying for accuracy and appropriate action
- Preparing bank reconciliations, deposits, and posting bank entries
- Reviewing and reconciling credit card statements, retrieving invoices/receipts, and posting transactions
- Maintaining and reconciling petty cash
- Entering new supplier account information
- Printing and checking A/P journals for accurate data entry
- Preparing A/P manual cheques, computer cheque runs and online payments
- Processing and verifying expense reports
- Preparing and maintaining other monthly/yearly G/L account reconciliations, journal entries and adjustments
- Maintaining year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assisting with preparation for reviews.
- Maintaining an up-to-date and complete systematic filing system to support book-keeping and financial records.
- Preparing and analyzing other statistical and accounting information as needed.
- Completing other month end closing procedures as required.

Provide general accounting and administrative support by**:

- Providing managers with continuous assistance to ensure expense reports and A/P invoices are approved and processed in a timely manner.
- Assisting the CFO with various accounting and administrative duties as required
- Preparing courier packages and outgoing mail for pickup. Receiving and distributing all mail
- Assisting with bid preparation
- Providing other administrative support to Vancouver Managers as needed

**Qualifications/mandatory criteria**:

- Minimum 2 - 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Experience with Simply Accounting
- Enrolment in a professional Accounting designation or equivalent full-cycle bookkeeping experience required.
- Strong computer skills, including database software and a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel essential
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- English language fluency (written and conversational)
- PWGSC (government) security clearance eligible
