Shop Coordinator

**Job Overview**
The Shop Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the order of the shop and compound, providing logístical support on a day-to-day basis for all AFT field operations.
**Inventory Management**
- Maintain stock inventory of parts, consumables, hand tools and equipment
- Complete requisition forms as required
**Equipment and Tool Maintenance**
- Liaise with Managers to identify workload requirements
- Liaise with Managers to plan and implement equipment and tool requirements
- Track tool and equipment whereabouts
- Schedule and manage equipment and tool maintenance requirements
- Update tool/equipment logs as required
**Shipping/Receiving/Deliveries**
- Prepare outgoing shipments
- Receive shipments as required
- Receive and tag parts, place on appropriate shelf for distribution
- Deliver/pick up parts, tools, equipment to job sites as required
- Assist with mobilization/demobilization of projects
**Housekeeping**
- Keep shop area clean and free of debris
- Empty garbage receptacles as needed
- Keep inventory organized
- Keep equipment and tools orderly
- Maintain order of AFT area of shared compound
**Administration**
- Provide additional support to other members of the senior management team as required
**Other**
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all records
- Process all information with attention to accuracy
**Working Conditions**
- Head Office
- Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
- Work occasional extra hours as the need arises
- Travel within HRM
- Ability to use proper lifting techniques to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs
- Work both indoors and outdoors; climate extremes (hot, cold, wet, dry)
- Exposure to prolonged periods of standing, crouching or sitting
- Frequently noisy working environment
- PPE will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat, hearing protection, etc.
- Hazards associated with the trade/industry
- Exposure to active construction and/or job sites
**Qualifications**
- Degree or diploma in relevant field or minimum of 5 years experience in related industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks required
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Energetic and positive attitude
- Forklift training an asset
- Overhead crane training an asset
- Possess valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
- Qualify for Security Clearances (Reliability Status and Controlled Goods)
- Provide Criminal Record Check
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Dartmouth, NS B3B 1L4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

- Secondary School (preferred)
