The Moz Group is currently looking for an experienced Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. This person will be responsible for processing payroll for the Ziff Davis Cybersecurity & Martech division Canada offices, GL, journal entries, and accruals. Reporting to the Director of Controls and P&L, you’ll be working closely with a group of talented folks on the Finance and HR teams. This is a full-time salary position.

**We are an office optional company. This position can be fully remote from anywhere within Canada. We're also open to having folks be based out of our Ottawa, ON or Vancouver, BC offices.**

**What You’ll Do**

**Payroll**
- Full cycle payroll for Canada on a semi-monthly basis for 200+ employees
- Process payroll for multiple provinces, salary and hourly employees, and out of sequence payroll runs.
- Audit each payroll for accuracy, reconcile results for errors, and make corrections as appropriate.
- Enter records, employee data, wages, deductions and other components into the payroll system for record-keeping, ensuring continued accuracy and maintenance of record systems.
- Prepare employee and tax forms for relevant events.
- File payroll tax reports as necessary for assigned jurisdictions.
- Keep thorough records and coordinate with HR to manage employee leave of absences and leave pay.
- Co-ordinate day to day operations of employee pay including new hires, terminations, leaves, additions, payroll deductions, and taxation.
- Manage employee time off records, accruals, and understand provincial requirements for paid time off.

**Accounting**
- Maintain payroll GL interface within ADP
- Reconcile & prepare semi-monthly payroll journal entry
- Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
- Prepare monthly payroll accruals

**Experience We Want to See**
- 5 or more years’ experience in payroll operations ideally across multiple countries
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work in a dynamic business environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- MS Office, particularly experienced Excel use is required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and process improvement skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Team player with a strong customer focus and ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- Working knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems required, ADP Workforce Now is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree, finance/accounting preferred
