This position reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting Aeroplan and is based in Montreal.
- Responsible for performing and executing month-end account closing activities, including developing and maintaining variance reporting.
- Responsible for receiving data from the business and corporate finance, and preparing accruals and general ledger accounts. Also responsible for,preparing journal entries for accruals and variances.
- Make recommendations to the Sr Manager, Financial Reporting - Aeroplan in the close process, based on analysis and review of accounts, to produce accurate and qualitative financial statements respecting the corporate deadlines. Run the financial statements, checks, and coordinate distribution to corporate finance and tax departments. Manage and review the accounts reconciliations assigned as well as lead the accounts reconciliation process globally for the team.
- Support the global implementation of a new ERP for the finance team and ensure effective financial managing processes. Attend meetings, test, change/document/manage new processes.
- Provide technical, functional expertise and practical advice to the business, making recommendations regarding GL accounts and departments, and support for the PeopleSoft Financial system,
- Analyze requirements, develop, test, and implement new functionalities and reports.
- Work with the corporate project team on the Finance Transformation project to modernize financial systems: assist in preparation of necessary documentation, processes, and testing, ensure compliance to 52-109 controls.
- Provide variance and business process change explanations, and other details regarding system changes to support auditors with internal and external audits.
- Provide detailed explanation and guidance on business process changes, or invoicing details to various departments (other finance teams, taxation, or Loyalty/IT) to help solve accounting issues by.
Participate in special projects and perform ad-hoc accounting analysis and reporting as required,

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree OR 5+ years' experience in Finance
- Accounting/finance designation (CMA/CGA/CA/CFA) is an asset
- High degree of proficiency with ERP Financial Systems and office tools (Microsoft Office, Oracle Peoplesoft or SAP).
- Strong organizational skills, flexible and adaptable
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and have strong prioritization ability to shift priorities and work under pressure
- Strong sense of initiative and work ethic
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others
